Connie Hale (Rhodes)
Joann asked me to let you know that Jacks tumor was star shaped with the end points spreading out connecting onto delicate blood vessels. The surgeon removed the larger mass and vein-fingers as much he could without causing bleeding and other complications. Tumor tested results showed an aggressive cancer. Jack will need 18 months of chemo and radiation treatments.
At this time they only allow Jack short intervals of sleep, continually check him with simple questions, what is your name, what year is it, etc. Jack’s been blessed with a sports active life keeping him in excellent and strong health that gives hope and encouragement.
When I went into his room (7th floor), there were two young high school students from Halstead on each side of his bed talking and encouraging their wrestling coach. Joann said that company/visitors helps Jack keep alert. Joann has stayed at his bedside since surgery Monday. She is bravely enduring the unknowing with strong faith and confidence for healing. She appreciates all your thoughts and continued prayers.
Also, there is a possibility that Jack and Wes will be transferred to the same care rehab facility located on Rock Road Wichita. I will let you know. Estimation: to be transferred Monday 28th.
