A friend of mine has a 10 yr old grandson wil leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant this fall.  He's going thru chemo now.

The "Be the Match" organization is doing a drive at Hesston Mennonite College Church (on main street), Hesston, Ks, Sunday morning Oct 5th to test people and get them on the bone marrow registry.  This is done by swabbing the inside of a person's cheek.  It's from 9 til 11 if anyone would like to register.

I found out you have to be between the ages of 18 & 44 to take the bone marrow test.  So please tell you friends and family that are between these ages, if they would like to help.  People older than 44 can always donate on line to "Be the Match".  It cost the organization around $100 a person to have the samples tested and registered.

I would like to thank everyone who helped and attended my fundraiser at Play Mor bowling alley. Special thanks to Sue and Jr. Ashcraft for providing the bowling alley.  And to Connie for helping with baked goods.  It was great to see everyone.....  classmates- Janet Beard, Valerie Thaw, Veronica Camargo, Terry Bernowich, Connie Hale, Kim and Edie Saylor, Tom and Mary Collier, Sue Brainard, and all my friends and family.  Some I haven't seen for 15 years.  It was a lot of fun-very up lifting.  Everyone was very gernerous - Thank you All for your support. God Bless all.    Becky Barker Davis.    See You at the Bread Basket !

Just thought I would let you all know the latest on my mother.  Her birthday was Tuesday and she turned 89 years old. Unfortunately the last time she had anything to eat or drink was at supper Monday evening.  She has been unresponsive since Tuesday morning.  The only thing she has had by mouth is her liquid medicine for pain.  Hospice started staying with her 24/7 starting at 5:00p today.  They are taking excellent care of her.

Terry: Wow. It is hard to lose a parent. It's hard to lose anyone that we love and spend to much time with. Such great memories of her, not only at our reunions, but also during our days at St. Mary's. I'm sure she's dancing the Lord's feet off in heaven. May you find abundant peace and faith during this challenge. Know that you and your mom are greatly loved.

Barbara
