Mary and Tom,

Sorry to read about your dad, Mary.  I remember seeing him a lot when I would visit my mom at the nursing home.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.  I hope to see you Friday at the memorial service.

ALL -

Just a note about the passing of Mike Roberts' (Newton) big brother - Max. He was a member of the NHS Class of 1963 and well known throughout the community for his love of sports. Our thoughts go out to Mike and the Roberts family at this time.

DON HORTON has been added to the In Memory page.

He passed away in 2009.

Thank You to Mike Roberts (Florida) for providing us with the information.

ALL -

Karen (Meires) Dreier, the younger sister of classmate Kem (Meires) Nicodemus passed away on Nov. 22, 2014. Karen was a member of the NHS Class of 1970 and many of you (and your siblings) probably remember her from school. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kem, as well as the Meires and Dreier families.

As we grow up, we realize it is less important to have lots of friends, and more important to have real ones. It was such a wonderful joy to see so many at The Bread Basket this morning.  We are a silly bunch of critters. What a hoot! Love you all... see you next month ... Connie

Tom… take a picture as you stand, posing in your speedo upon the sand. Your towel will conceal all that’s floppy… O’ Tom, everyone will want a copy… Stand tall sucking it in tight hold your breath with all your might… We love you Tom and wish you the best, enjoy your life to its fullest….  Connie

I don't know if anyone else read about it but Janet Beard's mother passed away and her services are at Broadway Colonial at 2:00p Wednesday, tomorrow.  I will be out of town and can't go but Janet, I am thinking about you and my prayers are with you.

So sorry to hear about Janet's mother - and our thoughts go out to her. Sadly at our age - It is time for us to face the reality of such things.

CONNIE - I'm pretty sure NO one wants to see me in a Speedo (not even me) - and I quit sucking in my stomach when I was 12 (it was hard to do and not very effective), so now I just go along as I am - accept it or not - life is too short to try and be someone else.

I removed my previous post about the beach (to save space) and posted a couple of pictures on my profile (for those who want to see them) of our trip to the Dominican Republic. The trip was TOO short - but definitely recommend it.

Hey ALL -

There has been a classmate asking if anyone knows the status and whereabouts of TIM HANNA . . .

If you have some info on TIM, then please post it "here" to the Message Forum - so that we can ALL share the information.

THANKS -

Tim lives in Wichita and is doing well. We saw him in September at the funeral for Tom's mother. He is married. His brother's name is Mike Hanna. He lives in Newton and would have a phone number for him , I'm sure.

I talked to Tim's sister Kit at the blood drive last Friday.  She said he is doing very well in Wichita and happily married.  I can't remember everything she told me but it was all good.

Classmates,

This is your reminder of our "Breakfast Club" meeting this Saturday the 14th. We will meet in the back room at the Breadbasket at 9am just like usual. The main topic for discussion will be if we should have a 65th birthday party this year. Everyone should come and bring your ideas and input to share with everyone else.

If you cannot be there, then by all means leave your feelings on our website here on the message forum so we can all see your ideas and discuss them Saturday. That will be the easiest way to share information. Hoping to see as many classmates as possible attend.

Well if no one will speak up, you know I will. :) I think having a 65th Birthday Party is a fantastic idea. Several people mentioned it at our last Reunion. 2018 is too long to wait to get together again (especially at our age)!

Here! Here!  I'm with you, Monica.  Don't know if I can afford to go anywhere this year, but it is a good idea.

A class 65-BD celabration has not gone unnoticed and will be a topic of discussion again this Saturday (3/14/15) morning at the Bread Basket (9:00). If anyone has any imput to share please come and/or contact Kim or Tom on the subject.

But (as usaul) I've probably already spoken out of turn at this point. However, I do agree that a class 65-BD is a great idea with perfect oppertunity to renew old and new friendships. I hope we can get something financed and organized that will be an enjoyable event for all who can attend.  Watch for details....

Right Kim!

Right Tom!

ha ha!  OOOPPPS! You are most welcome... love you 2- guys Connie

I'm on board. Not sure about Jim. Once he is well again it would be great to get together, especially if there is dancing.  Put us down for it and let me know how much we need to send, when and were.

Count me in for a 65th B-day party.  My Medicare insurance began this month - there's nothing like Medicare to make you feel 65 frown  I was in Newton 7 times last year to see my mother.  In December she moved from her 2 bedroom apartment in independent living to a 1-bedroom suite in Assisted Living.  Her comment was, "I'm 98, I think I should move to Assisted Living.  A nice suite on North Hall just became available and they don't open up very often, so I think I should take it."  Let me know where and when for the B-day party and if I can help by contacting some classmates we haven't seen for awhile.

Will and I are ready for a party!  Give us a date and we will be there!
