How is Lee Buller getting along?

Roger and all:

Thankfully, Lee Buller was just dismissed from the hospital this afternoon. It's going to take some time to get his strength back, and he will have some ongoing outpatient care. We are hoping that he can attend at least part of the reunion. Fingers crossed!

Martin, what was wrong with Lee? All I know is that he was in the hospital. I have been praying for him and Ruby. Truly wonderful people.

I contracted an auto immune condition that is quite rare.  1 in 200,000 people.  Docs do not know how it starts or how it works, but they know to treat it.  It attacked my lungs and kidneys.  I have spent two weeks in my back in bed getting my blood plasma cleaned of the anti bodies attacking my blood vessels.  I am on steroids and one drug that will supress the condition.  I have lost muscle tone and strength in my legs and core.  It will take time to get back too strength.

Martin, Bob, and Connie have been a blessing to me at this time.  I have come to really love them dearly.

I have had a lot of prayers and they all were answered.

Hope  to see you at the reunion at least one night.

Lee

I’m glad to hear the good news. Take it easy, Lee, and get your strength built up.

I am sure that was a lot to endure, Lee. More prayers and thoughts. Take care.

I have been praying for you, Lee.  Glad to hear they have you diagnosed and are treating you with care.  Why O Why did you have to be the 1 in 200,000??  I know you are special, but really.- Brenda

The Class of 1968 50th Reunion is under way. We had 38 last night for our "pre-reunion" dinner at Stroud's in Wichita. I'm confident nobody else in the restaurant could hear anything but the roar from the back corner room. (A photo gallery from the entire 3 days will be posted at the conclusion of our reunion.)

I was just reading the Newton Now newspaper and discovered one our classmates recently passed away. Alice Marie Lujano (Chavez) passed away July 21 and her funeral was July 25 at OLG. She doesn't have a profile set up on our website. May she rest in peace.

Thank you to all that were able to attend our 50th Reunion. We had a total of 86 officially registered, which included a number of spouses. It was obvious that all had fun, the food was great, memories were shared, and NEW MEMORIES were made. We will post a large gallery of photos in the coming days....so stay tuned and check back frequently.

Martin-

Reach into your stored memory, if you will, and list the names of all the '68 ers pictured in the 50th class reunion photo you posted.  I know who most of them are, but cannot tie in a name to identify some of my great classmates... my bad memory.

Dear Classmates,

A simple Hi there, a smile, a handshake, or I love you, goes a long way… So I’m sending all of them to you, but they can’t compare to the ones given and received at our 50th celebration.

Until next time… please, give yourself the gift of joy. And may you have inner-peace through life’s rollercoaster of ups-and-downs. Live well, love much, laugh often, and find joy dancing in the rain.

Railer-Hugs

Connie

Well said, Connie.  Thank you to Connie and Kem for the great decorations, to Martin for taking over for Lee, and everyone else who helped to make this weekend so special.  It was great to catch up with "old" friends but part of the fun was also meeting and talking with people I did not know in high school.  I missed having Kent Olsen and Cornelia Krahn, and Liz Speir and Vicki Unruh with us, to name just a few.  It was great to see fellow Northridge Elementary alumnae including Jim Guhr, Peter Preheim, Janie Hedrick, Steve McCullough and Paula Graber.  Monica and I are meeting next week before we forget anything!

Thank you again and happy rest of the summer to all.

I’ll add my thanks to everyone who made it such a great weekend! All the organization, phone calls, setup, etc made so many hours of work and I’m grateful to you all. What an enjoyable event!

After speaking to so many people I’m already getting my details confused — I hope everyone can update your profile to fill in the personal info about family and location, etc!

Reenie, I’m working on a list to go with Martins picture — but I’m going to need some help so if anyone can help me fill in some gaps I’d appreciate it. If others have other versions of the group picture that would be good.  Some faces are harder to see.

Thanks again to all!

Classmates:

Bob Hurley had his knee surgery as planned Tuesday morning. He now has pneumonia and serious fluid gains. His heart is also affected. Please pray for Bob! We’ll keep you informed.
