Roger Morton

My mother, Iris Morton, fell at her home last Wednesday. She didn’t break any bones but she does have serious head injuries. She is in intensive care at Via Christi in Wichita.  The next few days will give us a better idea of the brain damage she may have. Your prayers are appreciated.

Roger, you are blessed to have this kind, sweet, smiling woman as your mom and I know the pain you feel to see her injured, especially as her body is already weakened with age. I pray for her physical comfort and rest as she navigates through the injuries from the fall. I pray for her spirit as she and all of you rest in knowing she is in the hands of God.

We will all miss Tom, his energy and enthusiasm for our class and the web page! We'll miss him especially at the reunion. Now our thoughts and prayers are for Mary and the challenges she will face.  How Tom would have loved being in that group picture and seeing so many old friends!

Thank you all for your prayers and concern. Mom is sleeping soundly and comfortably. It may be several more days before the swelling goes down enough to be able to assess her outcome. We children are doing fine and all needs our are taken care of. It’s nice to have a large family!

Mom passed away peacefully last Thursday night. Her head injury was just too severe. Mom was very active right until the moment of her accident and I’m glad that she was able to live without assistance in the house that she and dad built over forty years ago.

My family will be receiving friends at Petersen Funeral Hime from 6:00 to 8:00pm Monday night. The memorial service will be At Columbus Ave. Church of Christ at 2:00pm Tuesday, followed by a reception.

Thank you for your support this past week

Sincerely,

Roger

Roger, I am sorry for your loss.  Your mom only brings a smiling gracious face to my mind.  My mom spoke well of her always after visiting with her at Gas Service parties.  What an amazing family she and Russ raised.  God has blessed your family and now you can be at peace she will not suffer. Hugs and prayers. Reenie

Roger: So sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She was a wonderful person and instilled love, integrity and grace in her children. Your family was a great part of our neighborhood. We know she is in a place of ultimate joy and peace - waiting for her family to join her. I pray for that peace of heart as your family works through this unfortunate process of missing our parents dearly.

Roger, very sorry for your loss. My mom passed in August at the age of 95. She had rapidly declined and it was a blessing that God took her to be with Him. Thinking of you and your family.

Arlys Kessler (Nilles)

My mother, Mary Kessler (101) passed away on April 5, at Newton Presbyterian Manor.  She was sewing a baby quilt the afternoon before she passed away.  She always had a sense of humor and optimistic outlook.  Our family will be at Petersen's Funeral Home Friday, April 13 from 4-7 PM.  A celebration of her life will be  Saturday, April 14 at 11 AM, Trinity Heights United Methodist Church, Newton.

I’m so very sorry, Arlys!  I learned so much from your Mother.  To this day, all my hangers are hung the same direction in my closet!  She taught me in case of emergency, you can grab your clothes without “hang up”!  I loved her little tips!  She was the “queen” of my household!

I’m sad to hear of Mary’s passing, Arlys. I enjoyed visiting with her on her 100th birthday. She was an interesting lady. I’ll be sending prayers for you and your family.

I was just thinking about your folks the other day & it made me smile. Learned a lot about land & agriculture from Frank & enjoyed our occasional jaunts out to an auction or look at some land & end up having a slice of pie at Burns or somewhere. Your mother was always a lady & very sweet, enjoyed seeing her in church. Please accept our condolences & know we’re thinking of you and your family.
