Connie Hale (Rhodes)

Appreciation to Aimee, Glenda, Linda, Ruby, Helen, June, and Mary C. for the wonderful fun filled afternoon of laughter and sharing ‘girlie stuff’. A wonderful full meal-deal chicken salad with fresh baked rolls was served along with the many delightful desserts enjoyed by all.

I was still laughing this morning until John asked me a simple question… “Connie, what are you laughing about now?”  Well Duuuu! I didn’t have the faintest idea other than wanting to share this funny story Linda told that I had already completely forgot!!! LOL! Ladies help me out! What was that cell phone joke?

Anyway, it was an enjoyable blast hosting this event. Now the question is… Who will host the next one?

Until next time sending Railer Hugs.

Kem & Connie

Many thanks to all of you that have sent wishes, thoughts, and prayers for me.  I saw the surgical oncologist (Liver guy) yesterday, and he wants me to do chemotherapy before we consider surgery to ensure that it won't just pop up again somewhere else.  I have a pulmonary function test today, and a brain scan tomorrow.  Will probably start chemo next week.  I'll find out from my oncologist Friday.  Thanks again, and keep praying.

Bill,

I am thinking of you. Last week I was diagnosed with lymphoma. They found this when I had a biopsy of a fast- growing lump in my neck. I start chemo Wednesday. I so remember our time together in "Oklahoma." You were an awesome guy then, as now! Take care my friend. Know that positive thoughts and prayers are coming your way!

Your Railer singing friend,

Darla

Bill and Darla, I am so sorry to hear about what you are both going through right now. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your familys. August has been a tough month. I have lost 2 close friends in the past 2 weeks to cancer and found out 2 of my former co workers have it also. Miracles do happen and prayers are answered. God Bless You Both!

From Aloha >>> back-to-reality!

John and I totally enjoyed our 10 day stay on the island Kuia in Hawaii.

During our time away on the beach, many class messages where missed….

Kim,

Our sincere prayers cover the Saylor family. Please know we are thinking of you in sympathy and understanding that words can’t express for the loss of your father. You have been a beautiful supportive care-provider and loving son. Your father was truly blessed.

Birthdays:

I want to send all the October birthday babies a belated Birthday wish filled with joy and happiness today and every day….

Hawaii:

Yes, I took a nose dive down a steep sand doom at the beach. Mooning everyone there, but thankful my face hit the beach towel on the downhill slide. Yes! Two pretty young babes in bikini’s assisted John during a snorkel adventure. Yes! I had one-too many my-ties at the Luau. Yes! (Thankfully) John has more common sense than I do. And YES! our trip was awesome!

Well, the chemo is done. Had new CT SCANS last week an got the results today. The lesions in my lung and liver have both shrunk dramatically and there are no new spots. That means I can have surgery on each of those. I will be having the liver resection possibly before Christmas. The lu g resection will come after that. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. A week ago I didn't think I would be alive for the next reunion. There's a good chance I will be, now. I wish I could afford it.

Susan (Karst) Washburn passed away today (12/16). Our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to Pat Washburn and the family for this sudden and heart breaking loss.

Pat and Susan had planned to be at our house this evening for a Christmas gathering of the "card group" (classmates and friends) - and I know how much Susan had wanted to attend, after having been "house ridden" while fighting a serious infection recently.

Her laughter will be missed by all of us.
